Editorial change log

A public record of substantial additions and changes to the archive's published content.

4 October 2026 — Low-value-content remediation

  • Excluded the search utility from the indexable inventory and formally classified the already-excluded manager-comparison utility, while keeping both available to readers.
  • Expanded the Stories landing page with original reading paths that distinguish chronological history, institutional research, rivalries and sensitive-event coverage.
  • Expanded the About and Methodology pages with publication scope, linked source examples, a documented process for resolving conflicting records and the separation between advertising and editorial decisions.
  • Standardised the global footer so every reader-facing page links directly to About, Methodology and Corrections.
  • Added automated checks that require every indexed article to retain its visible author credit and review date, every configured utility page to remain noindex and free of advertising code, and every public footer to retain the three transparency links.

7 September 2026 — Editorial review and comparison corrections

  • Revised the foundations, Anfield, Boot Room, Europe, title-journey and Records Lab articles, replacing repeated methodological passages with specific historical examples and season comparisons.
  • Corrected the Istanbul article: a 1–0 victory over Olympiacos would have qualified Liverpool; after conceding, a two-goal winning margin was required.
  • Repaired the empty title-journey table and added the 2001–02, 2009–10 and 2014–15 follow-up seasons.
  • Added calculated per-match rates for the 1978–79 and 2019–20 champions, with competition and match-count labels beside the raw-total charts.
  • Added dated stadium evidence and more precise sources for coaching careers and European finals.

9 August 2026 — Research article expansion

  • Expanded the articles on Anfield, the Boot Room, Liverpool in Europe, the club's foundations, the thirty-year title journey and long-run records and trends.
  • Added section-level citations so readers can connect individual passages with the sources used.
  • Published new comparisons covering Anfield capacity, European eras, long-run records and the title wait.
  • Published a dedicated author profile explaining editorial responsibility, research practice and the corrections route.

29 July 2026 — Original research edition

  • Published five connected history-by-era guides.
  • Published original features on Anfield, the Boot Room, Europe, four rivalries and long-run records.
  • Added page-specific sources, substantive review dates and statements explaining each article's original contribution.
  • Expanded the methodology page with clearer statistical definitions, where the facts come from and how articles are reviewed.

20 July 2026 — Archive revision

  • Revised the manager and player profiles to remove repeated text and add reviewed historical summaries.
  • Expanded fifteen landmark season articles with additional context and interpretation.
  • Updated the season archive to retain a complete 124-campaign record while connecting readers to the expanded landmark articles.
